The Publications Office of the European Union in Luxembourg is currently looking for experienced proofreaders to correct EU documents and texts in Portuguese.

 

The European Union is the ultimate multinational, multilingual organisation making it unique in the publishing world by the large volume of publications it produces and disseminates, and by the multilingual texts it handles. With the complexity that comes from 23 official languages, proofreaders have a vital role to play. As a proofreader for the EU, you will carry out a range of tasks including preparing and cleaning manuscripts for publication or adoption in terms of language, terminology, style rules, typography, page make-up and structure. You will also proofread proofs and carry out a number of quality control checks. These positions require accuracy and precision, good communication skills and the ability to consistently deliver high quality results.

 

To join us, you need to have a perfect command of Portuguese and a good knowledge of English, French or German. You will have a strong background in proofreading, editing or producing publications for the public; a minimum of three years’ previous experience in the field is required.
