The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) was the first Sino-foreign university to open its doors in China. This award winning campus offering a UK style education has grown to establish a student body of over 5,000 in just 8 years.Ningbo is located in Zhejiang Province on the south shore of Hangzhou Bay, opposite Shanghai. Nearly 7,000 years old, populated with over seven million people and covering 9,000 square km, Ningbo is a rapidly growing city. Ranked 6th in Forbes? list of the top cities for business in China, it?s a thriving blend of enterprise, culture, education, tradition and entertainment. Ningbo has a modern transport infrastructure including an international airport and high speed rail links which will link the city to Shanghai in around an hour and a half.
The post represents an exciting and unique opportunity for a candidate with the ability to deliver high quality language teaching from beginner to advanced levels in Spanish for undergraduate and postgraduate students. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the further development of language teaching and learning resources, including e-learning and web-based provision, and to the administration of quality assurance procedures.
Candidates must have a degree, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline and the ability to teach from beginner to advanced levels in Spanish. Effective communication and presentation skills in English and experience of teaching at degree level in an international English-speaking institution are also required.
Salary will be within the range RMB 214,737 ? RMB 256,407 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance. In addition, an attractive package including accommodation allowance, travel allowance and insurance will be provided for international appointments.
This post will be available from 1 September 2013 and will initially be offered on a fixed-term contract with the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China for a period of up to five years. This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement.
