The successful candidate will ideally have a keen interest in publishing or will be able to demonstrate an interest in book design in their portfolio. Strong typography and layout skills are essential, as is the ability to manage many projects at the same time and keep to demanding deadlines.
You will be fully proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite applications and will have an interest in digital product design. You should possess strong organizational and communication skills as well as the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. You are able to adapt your design style to suit different audiences and genres.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree-level qualification in Graphic Design or equivalent
- Design experience within a publishing/editorial environment or a demonstrable interest in applying your design skills to this area
- An understanding of the publishing process and production techniques
- The ability to learn about and utilise new technologies
- High attention to detail
- A keen interest in book design and its digital future
