Candidate to teach courses in introductory and intermediate-advanced Spanish language/literature/Hispanic studies and Interdisciplinary general education courses with a focus on Intercultural Studies. Western Oregon University announces an opening for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Spanish to begin in September 2013. This is a 9-month position.
Main field of interest: Peninsular Spanish, 20th and 21st Centuries.
Preferred applicants will be able to also offer courses in one or more of the following areas: Spanish for Heritage Speakers, Spanish for the Professions (medical, law enforcement, and business), Peninsular Spanish (19th Century) and film. Experience in Second Language Acquisition will be a plus. Teaching responsibilities will include all levels of Spanish language as well as content within the candidate’s area of specialty.
