The post is full-time and permanent. The successful candidate should be able to take up his or her appointment from 1 September 2013 or as soon as possible thereafter. Salary will be in the range £38,197 to £43,787 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, final salary pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.

University of the West Indies -Department of Language, Linguistics & Literature
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the post of Assistant Lecturer /Lecturer in Spanish in the Department of Language, Linguistics & Literature at The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus.
The successful applicant should have a Masters or Ph.D in Spanish or a related discipline and have native or near-native competence in Spanish, with demonstrable experience in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language and of Hispanic Culture, at undergraduate and graduate levels, using a dynamic, communicative approach in a technologically integrated environment. Since the Spanish section is moving toward greater integration of the cultural and linguistic aspects of foreign-language learning, a capacity to facilitate such integration is highly desirable.
The successful candidate should be able to contribute to the teaching of courses in Spanish for special purposes, particularly Business Spanish and Spanish for Tourism. Experience with study abroad and immersion programmes is also desirable, since the incorporation of these into the degree programme is currently a priority of the Spanish section.
The successful applicant should also demonstrate active research engagement and publication in a relevant area or areas such as language pedagogy, Spanish linguistics, or Hispanic literature and culture.
